Sara Middlebrooks Holifield 88, of Bonita Springs, Florida and a former resident of Demopolis, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018.
Sara was born on Jan. 31, 1930 in Heiberger, Alabama, a daughter of the late Charles Alphus and Vivian (née Elam) Middlebrooks. She had been a resident of Bonita Springs since 2011 moving from Demopolis.
She was a graduate of the University of Alabama where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education. She was a former member of the Heiberger United Methodist Church in Heiberger and a former member of the First United Church in Demopolis.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Nancy H. Prysi and her husband, Dr. Mark Prysi of Naples, Florida; seven grandchildren, Sara Prysi, Brooke Prysi, Quenton Craddock, Max Craddock, Christina Holifield Tate, Reesa Holifield and Josh Holifield; two great-grandchildren, Bryson Holifield and Charlee Tate; and her sister, Hazel King of Marion Junction, Alabama.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Reese Maxwell Holifield and Thomas Charles Holifield; one daughter, Theresa Holifield Craddock; her brother, Alphus Middlebrooks; and her sister, Roberta M. Burns.
Private family graveside services were held, Sunday, Nov. 4, at Heiberger United Methodist Cemetery. Burial followed.
