Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital employees recently closed out their two-week-long inaugural “Neighbor to Neighbor Cereal Drive” on Wednesday, which ended with over 800 pounds of cereal food items being donated to the Demopolis Food Pantry. The Employee Relations Committee of the hospital also donated $1,000 representing all BWWMH employees. Stanhope Brasfield, M.D., who is the purchasing agent for the food pantry, said “We appreciate the hospital employees and the efforts to support the food pantry. We’re trying to keep people healthy by giving them good food, and this will really help us and our program.” The food pantry serves approximately 200 families per week and spends about $1,700 per month on food items.
