The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce will be seeking a new director following the resignation of Candace Dorriety.
Dorriety served as the director since January, officially resigning the position August 4, stating that her family is moving out of the area.
“I have enjoyed my work with the chamber, including collaborations with the board of directors, the staff, colleagues, business leaders, community volunteers, civic organizations, elected officials, and many more,” Dorriety said. “Serving in this role has been fascinating and enlightening. I feel very fortunate to have been part of a team of individuals who give so selflessly and work cohesively for the continued success of this community.”
The DACC Board of Directors will begin a search to find a new executive director.
“We certainly appreciate the great job (Dorriety) did during her time as the director,” said DACC Board President Michael Mullins. “The board is committed to weighing all options in finding our next director. We plan to take the necessary time to find the right candidate who will lead our chamber into the future.”
