Old Spring Hill UMC plans Youth Fun Day

Old Spring Hill United Methodist Church will host a Youth Fun Day on Saturday, April 29, beginning at 11 a.m. There will be games, horse rides, and other fun activities for children of all ages. First Mt. Pleasant District will hold a Fellowship Meeting on Sunday, April 30, beginning at 10 a.m., with First Missionary Baptist Church in Linden being the host church. The theme will be “Together in Fellowship: The Global Connection” (Psalms 133:1, Acts 2:42). Rev. Joseph Harper will serve as moderator; Rev. Robert Pearce Jr., vice-moderator and host; Rev. Timothy Page, president; Sis. Sarah J. Smith, secretary; Sis. Elizabeth Abernathy, treasurer. The public is invited to attend.

Saints Tabernacle Church of God in Christ, 903 Arcola Road, will be having revival services May 1-5. Elder JoMack Bankhead from Sulligent, Alabama will be the evangelist for the week. Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. nightly. The public is invited to attend.

First Presbyterian Church in Demopolis will host a yard sale to benefit missions projects on May 6, from 6 a.m. to noon, at the church located at 300 N. Strawberry Avenue.

Eastern Star Baptist Church will host a Barbecue Sale fundraiser on Saturday, May 6, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church’s fellowship hall. Plates are $7.50 or $8 with a drink. Plates include chicken or ribs, two sides (choice of baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad), bread and cake. The church is located at Third Avenue and Arcola Road in Demopolis. Eastern Star Baptist Church invites the community to join with their congregation on Sunday, May 21, at 11 a.m., for the 13th Anniversary Celebration of Pastor Terry Gosa and First Lady Carolyn Gosa. The church is located at Third Avenue and Arcola Road in Demopolis.

Women of Faith is extending an invitation to the youth of all churches to participate in a trip to the Sight and Sound Theater, featuring “Moses,” where the Bible comes to life located in Branson, Missouri. The trip will be June 21 through 23. Youth ages 17 and under are invited for the three-day, two night trip accompanied by an authorized adult sharing the same room. Women of Faith will pay a portion of the cost, allowing youth to travel at a discounted price of $175, which includes bus, hotel with complimentary breakfast, tickets to “Moses” and an amusement park. All adults will pay the full price of $365 plus amusement park entry fee. The Women of Faith will organize a trip to Atlanta Nov. 15-17 to tour the Martin Luther King Center, dine at Soul Food Restaurant, and shopping. The bus will depart on Nov. 15 at 5:30 a.m. The price is $200 and the final payment is due on Oct. 10. Mt. Zion #2 invites the public to their services. Sunday School is at 10 a.m., Sunday Morning Worship every second and fourth Sunday; and  Bible Study every Wednesday at 5 p.m.

The Cornerstone South Full Gospel Baptist Church holds its Sunday morning worship services beginning at 8:30 a.m. The church is located at 1726 Highway 43 South in the Peachtree Plaza shopping center. Earnest L. Palmer is the senior pastor. Bible study is held every Tuesday at 6 p.m.
