The Demopolis Kiwanis Club recognized local students involved in the group’s student organization, Key Club, during a special ceremony held last week at the Demopolis Country Club.
The Kiwanis Club inducted 27 students into Key Club during the lunch program and recognized the group’s five officers.
Among the guests at the event was DHS Principal Chris Tangle. “We thank the Kiwanis Club for recognizing these excellent students who are the leaders at Demopolis High School,” Tangle said.
Key Club is an international student-led organization that provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.
“Key Club members are caring and competent servant leaders transforming communities worldwide,” said Kiwanis member Amy White.
The induction ceremony was part of Kiwanis Club’s annual Kiwanis One Day.
“Kiwanis members serve their communities all year long, but the excitement for service really builds each April when members come together for Kiwanis One Day — a day of community service that is felt around the world. This year, it is a pleasure for the Demopolis Kiwanis Club to recognize these Key Club members,” White said.
