Since the beginning of the year, the Demopolis Police Department has investigated multiple vehicle break-ins across the city.
Those investigations have resulted in the arrest of five juveniles on various charges.
Investigators were able to link the unidentified juveniles to 10 total break-ins, including one that had not been reported.
The suspects were referred to the Marengo County Juvenile Court on the following charges, 18 counts of unlawful breaking and entering vehicles, five counts of burglary, five counts of criminal mischief, two counts of theft of property and two counts of fraudulent use of a credit card.
The investigation continues, and additional charges may be filed. Police were able to recover several stolen items, which included firearms, phones, MP3 players and other goods.
Demopolis Police Chief Tommie Reese asks the public to make sure to lock their vehicles when left unattended.
