Vermelle Johnson Cranford

Vermelle Johnson Cranford, 93, of Linden, died Saturday, Dec. 6, at the Marengo Nursing Home.

She was born March 23, 1921, in Myrtlewood. She was a former registered nurse and was a member of the Geneva Presbyterian Church.

She is survived by her son, Don Johnson of Biloxi, Miss.; daughters, Diane Patrick of Sweet Water and Glenda Waldrop of Sylacauga; brother, Bert Dubose of Stuart, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Geneva Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Brooks Etheridge officiating. Burial was in the Geneva Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Terry Johnson, Naret Johnson, Tom Sessions, Gene Tolbert, Bobby Noland and Roger Gunter.
