County approves 2015 budget

The Marengo County Commission approved its fiscal year 2015 budget during Tuesday’s monthly meeting.
The county’s revenue in the budget is $15,371,453.10, and the expenditures are $12,553,528.38. After the expenditures, the county will be left with $2,816,924.72 in restricted funds, which are used for capital improvement, road projects, the task force fund and jail improvements.
The commission also approved bids for the road department during Tuesday morning’s meeting.
Bids for corrugated metal pipe and aluminized pipe were awarded to Harvey Culvert, liquid asphalt was awarded to Hunt Refining, plastic pipe was awarded to HD Supply, stone was awarded to Southeast Materials, gasoline was awarded to Pruett Oil and gravel was awarded to Paul Bradford.
