DHS XC runners improve in Mobile meet

Demopolis High School’s cross country team traveled to Mobile last weekend to compete in its second meet of the season.
The Tigers competed in the Mobile Cross Country Challenge of Champions at Langhan Park in Mobile.
On the girls side, Sylvia Clayton finished 29th overall with a time of 23:32.66, followed by Gracie Boykin with a time of 23:39.02 in 31st place. There were 189 girls that ran in the race. Clayton’s time was an improvement from her first meet time of 23:46.60.
The other DHS girls finished with the following times:
•Darneshia Harris – 26:05.21
•Mary-Michael Bradley – 26:12.24
•Audrey Boykin – 26:53.96
•Dalejah Bryant – 34:08.61
•Calejah Bryant – 34:36.16
•Petra Miranda – 38:02.89
On the boys side, Datrion Fultz finished 25th out of 257 runners with a time of 19:40.32. Austin Brooks was the next fastest Tiger with a time of 21:56.46, good for 100th overall.
The other DHS boys finished with the following times:
•Banks Compton – 22:54.66
•Jacob Boland – 24:45.41
•James Woods – 25:10.28
•Clay McVay – 27:22.84
•Jose Cardenas – 32:58.06
Demopolis’ next meet will be Saturday, Sept. 20 in Tuscaloosa.
