The Sweet Water Bulldogs (1-1, 1-0) got their first win of the season in their first region game Friday night on the road at St. Luke’s.
The Bulldogs won 40-14 behind a strong effort from Eric Jenkins and Keldric Greene, along with some big plays in the passing game.
Jenkins ended the night with 17 carries for 137 yards, one reception for 90 yards and a touchdown. Greene carried the ball 18 times for 83 yards. In the passing game, Branson Davis had two completions for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
“We blocked better and played better defense than we did against Thomasville,” Sweet Water head coach Pat Thompson said. “It’s real big to get your first region win. We’re 1-0 in the region, and that’s right where we want to be.”
