Demopolis First Baptist Church held its monthly Joy Day for seniors Thursday and welcomed a group of special guests.

Members of the FBC music ministry dressed up as the Soggy Bottom Boys from the movie “O’ Brother Where Art Thou,” for the monthly variety show. FBC Music Minister Tim Hall said each month there is a guest at the meeting depending on the theme.

“When we have special programs like this, it brings out a pretty good crowd,” Hall said. “Everyone really seemed to enjoy this one.”

The group of Hall, George Ballard, Henry Baxley, Ed Rush, John Malone and Carl Williams sang hymns from the time period of the movie during the show while the movie played through a projector.

Hall said Rush organized the show for this month’s Joy Day.
