Shechinah Adams, Cayla Noussain and Amber Nelson all won races to highlight West Alabama’s performance in the Choctaw Open Track and Field Meet hosted by Mississippi College Friday at Parkman Track.

Adams ran a personal best 5:00.31 to win the women’s 1500, while Noussain won the women’s 5000 in 19:34.25. Nelson and Adams finished first and second, respectively, in the women’s 800. Nelson won by clocking in at a personal best 2:22.61.

“After a few weeks away from competition and getting some good training under their belts the kids ran well,” UWA head track coach Ray Stanfield said. “Shechinah Adams and Amber Nelson ran very well, not only winning, but running personal bests. Our training is taking hold.”
