Gladys Taylor Franks, 84, of Demopolis, died Sunday, April 13, at her home in Demopolis.
She was born April 30, 1929, in Samantha to James Thomas and Stella Gilliam Taylor.
She was preceded by her parents, James Thomas and Stella Gilliam Taylor; sisters, Brazzie Rodgers and Maxie Bryant; and brothers, Wiley Taylor, Arthur Taylor, Ottie Taylor, Paul Taylor and B.A. Taylor.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, George Franks of Demopolis; daughters, Kaye (Arthur) Evans, Lydia (Mike) Randall and Cindy (Trent) Parker all of Demopolis; son, Bobby Franks of Tuscaloosa; sister, Martha Donner of Samantha; brother, J.T. Taylor of Tuscaloosa; grandchildren, Emily (Shane) Spiller, Scott (April) Evans, Michael Randall, Taylor (Megan) Evans, Fallon Franks, Kathleen Randall, Hayden Franks, Leanna Parker and Graham Parker; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 16 at First Baptist Church at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Carl Williams and Scott Gossett officiating. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park in Tuscaloosa. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the church.
Pallbearers will be Bo McAlpine, Mike McAlpine, Kenny Freeman, Higley Parr, Bobby Jackson, Frank Calloway and Stuart Waldrop.
Honorary pallbearers will be the T.E.L. Sunday school class, neighbors of Phil Harper Drive, employees of Maison de Briques and employees of Southern Care of Demopolis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to First Baptist Church Flower Fund, Lottie Moon Christmas offering or Calvary Baptist Church of Tuscaloosa.
