Tigers shut out by Hale County

The Demopolis Tigers baseball team traveled to Hale County on Wednesday and were shut out by the Wildcats 3-0.
Tripp Perry (2-3) started the game on the mound and received the loss. He pitched four innings and allowed two hits, three walks and three runs, two of which were earned. He also struck out four batters. Matt Eicher pitched two innings and gave up one hit while striking out two batters.
The Tigers had only four hits in the game. Tyler Oates went 2-for-3 at the plate with a double and Wil Stephens also had a double. Seth Aiken reached base on a single.
“We just couldn’t piece it together,” head coach James Moody said. “It’s the same thing we’ve been struggling with all year – our approach at the plate and our mentality of getting the job done and competing. We’re struggling at the plate.”
The Tigers will be on the road Friday at Dallas County and on Saturday at Sipsey Valley where they will face Sipsey Valley and Winfield in a double header beginning at 11 a.m.
Demopolis will return home Tuesday, April 15 to face Chilton County for senior night.
