Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital administrator Mike Marshall was arrested Tuesday and charged with driving under the influence and possession of a concealed weapon without a permit.

Michael Dale Marshall was arrested at 9:23 p.m. Tuesday, according to a Demopolis Police Department arrest report.

Marengo County Sherrif Ben Bates confirmed Marshall was booked in the county jail.

When contacted Wednesday hospital board members said they were aware of Marshall’s arrest.

“The hospital board members are aware of it, and we have all confidence in the law enforcement,” said Annye Braxton, Tombigbee Healthcare Authority board chairwoman.

Board member Jay Shows said Marshall’s arrest will be discussed at the next board meeting.

“The board is highly disappointed in hearing such reports, and it will be discussed with the administrator at the next board meeting,” Shows said.

The hospital board’s next scheduled meeting is April 24, but Shows expected a meeting sooner than that.

“I would not doubt we can have a special called meeting,” he said.

Attempts to reach Marshall on Wednesday afternoon were unsuccessful.
