DHS tennis earns wins over Jackson

Demopolis High School’s boys and girls tennis teams earned wins Tuesday against Jackson High School.
The boys pulled out a 5-4 win and the girls swept the Lady Aggies 9-0.
Head coach Clay Massey said he likes how the team is playing following spring break.
“I’m pleased with the way we’ve come back from spring break,” he said. “We haven’t been rusty. The boys have gotten two big wins and the girls had a good showing against Jackson.”
He added that the biggest key has been playing aggressively.
“We’ve really picked up where we left off before the break, and we’re playing with a lot of confidence,” he said. “We’re being aggressive, and when we are, we play well.”
The results against Jackson for the boys are as follows:

•Carson Parten won 8-3
•Garrett Miller won 9-8
•Jacob Browder won 8-6
•Rodney Skidmore lost 6-8
•Ben Robertson lost 1-8
•Woodruff/Parten won 8-2
•Miller/Browder lost 5-8
•Skidmore/Robertson lost 4-8
The results against Jackson for the girls are as follows:
Meredith Hill won 8-1
Sarah Culpepper won 8-3
Anna Ezell won 8-0
Mary Frances Brown won 8-3
Katherine Floyd won 8-3
Lauren Boone won 6-0
Hill/Culpepper won 8-2
Floyd/Boone won 8-4
Ezell/Brown won 8-6
The Tigers will be on the road Thursday as the boys face Central-Tuscaloosa and the girls face Pleasant Grove.
