The Demopolis Area Chamber of Commerce, along with the Demopolis Area Business Council, will host Art and Retail Night on Thursday, April 17 from 5-7 p.m.

The event will give retail businesses in Demopolis the opportunity to stay open from 5-7 p.m. showcasing art from local artists, bringing more people into their business.

“Stores will open to display art from local artists and people can go around and see it,” said Michael Kennedy, executive director of the Chamber. “On the art side, it will allow local artists to have their art displayed when it might not normally be, and on the business side, it will bring people into the stores that don’t necessarily come into them often.”

The event is free to the public, and everyone who attends will be given a card. At each business a person visits, their card will be marked, and anyone whose card is marked by at least half of the participating businesses will be entered to win one of three prizes.
