Demopolis Goody’s donating to Harriet’s House

Goody’s is turning the month of March into “30 Days of Giving.”
All Goody’s customers who visit the Demopolis store through the end of March will be invited to donate to Harriet’s House, a women and children’s shelter in Demopolis.
As a special thank you, every customer who makes a donation will receive a Community Counts Savings Pass that gives shoppers a special discount March 19-27. In addition, Stage Stores Inc., Goody’s parent company, will be making an additional donation to each local organization on top of what their customers donated in-store.
Susanna Naisbett, director of Harriet’s House, said this will have a big impact on the cash flow of her organization.
“It will be huge for us,” Naisbett said. “It will have a huge impact on cash flow. We get nice grants, but they all require a hard cash match, so this will go a long way for us.”
She added that the program is a good way for people to donate and get something in return.
“Everyone who donates gets a coupon for Goody’s in return, so they get something in return,” she said. “We also have coupons that Goody’s sent us that we can give donors that donate directly to us and not through Goody’s.”
Naisbett said the donation from Goody’s to Harriet’s House will be made toward the end of April.
Harriet’s House is a shelter for victims of domestic abuse. Emergency shelter services are available free of charge to women and their children who are victims of domestic violence, and non-residential services are available free of charge to all victims of domestic violence. They have a 24-hour crisis line along with many other services for victims of domestic abuse.
