Barbara Robertson Drury

Barbara Robertson Drury, 81, of Greensboro, died Wednesday, March 12 in Tuscaloosa.
She was born on Sept. 27, 1932, in Tuscaloosa. She was educated in the public schools of Greensboro, and upon graduation attended college at Huntingdon where she received her undergraduate degree. She later earned her masters degree in social work from the University of Alabama. She worked for many years with the Hale County Department of Human Resources where she served as director until her retirement in 1991.
Services were held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 14 at First United Methodist Church of Greensboro with Dr. Nathan Elliott officiating. Burial followed in Oakwood Cemetery with Kirk Funeral Homes Greensboro Chapel directing. Visitation was held Friday one hour prior to services at the church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Brady Robertson and Ruth Woolley Robertson; and her husband, Wallace Foote Drury.
Survivors include her daughter, Dena Drury (Robert) Prince of Tuscaloosa; sons, Wallace Foote (Anne Burt) Drury Jr., and Charles Brady (Barbara) Drury, both of Greensboro; sisters, Patricia Robertson Higdon and Sue Ellen Robertson Massengale of Tuscaloosa and Mary Robertson (John Allen) Johnson of Gardendale; grandchildren, Jenny Drury (Jimmy) West, Charles Brady Drury Jr., Wallace Foote (Sarah Beth) Drury III, Willis Drury Prince, Grace Robertson Prince, all of Tuscaloosa, Leah Elizabeth Drury of Pensacola, Fla., and Mary Elizabeth Byrd (Bradford) Garvey of New York, N.Y.; and great-grandchildren, Lily Grace West and Hudson Dean West of Tuscaloosa, and Elizabeth Ann Garvey and Caroline Cole Garvey of New York, N.Y.
Pallbearers were Charles Brady Drury Jr., Wallace Foote Drury III, Clint Robertson Crawford, Jimmy West, Donald Evan Wedgeworth and Jack Neal Glass.
Because of their many years of faithful caring service, the family would like to recognize as honorary pallbearers Geneva Williams, Rebecca Mickens and Barbara Craig.
