The Marengo County Commission made three appointments to the Marengo County Department of Human Resources Board during their Tuesday meeting.
John Crawford Jr. appointed Charlotte Webb, Calvin Martin appointed Shirley Hudson and Michael Thompson appointed R.C. Watts to the board.
The commission also approved the purchase of a 14×45 mobile office unit from Williams Scotsman in Moody to replace the voting location of the old courthouse in Linden. The building will cost the commission $6,139.49, but with funds from the Help Alabama Vote Act, they can be reimbursed after the purchase is made.
The building will be wired for electricity and it will already have an HVAC unit in it for the poll workers.
Also during the meeting, the commission voted to add four roads to the public roads list. Trout Lane and Richardson Drive will be added to the district three list, and Plum Drive and Fountain Drive will be added to the district four list.
The commission also accepted a bid of $15,000 from the Demopolis Delivery Service for the Summer Feeding Program.
In other business, the commission took the following action:
•Adopt five resolutions for the RAMP road-improvement funding
•Adopt a resolution changing the tax sale location to the first-floor courtroom, the second-floor courtroom or the commission chambers
•Renew the garbage contract with Advanced Disposal for another three years
•Give County Administrator Meredith Hammond permission to attend the Administrator’s Conference in Orange Beach on May 14-15
•Approve the EMA and tobacco tax CD rate of .75 percent for six months with Sweet Water State Bank
The commission entered an executive session for one hour to discuss the good name and character of individuals and took no action following the executive session.
