UWA men’s tennis cruises past Christian Brothers

The University of West Alabama men’s tennis team won its seventh consecutive match and remained a perfect 4-0 on the road with a 9-0 victory over Christian Brothers Thursday at TPC at Southwind.
With the win, West Alabama improves to 11-1 overall and 3-1 in Gulf South Conference play. Christian Brothers is 0-3 and 0-3.
West Alabama only gave up four games in singles, with Adam Drysdale, Simon Bardell, Kike Ruiz and Manuel Grossmann all winning by 6-0, 6-0 counts. Nestor Vargas and Ruiz took No. 1 doubles over Nick Wiseman and Stephen Johnston, 8-3. Drysdale and Anton Ivanov took care of Daniel D’Alto and Sebastian Guijarro in No. 2 doubles, 8-0.
Both the UWA men and women’s teams remain in GSC play Friday at Delta State.
