The Demopolis High baseball team traveled to American Christian Academy on Tuesday for their second game of the season.
The Tigers lost the game 7-2, but head coach James Moody said the final score really wasn’t indicative of the game.
“We were tied 2-2 going into the bottom of the fourth, but we had a bad inning on the mound,” he said. “We competed at the plate and swung the bat better, but it’s a work in progress right now.”
Jacob Rodrigues started the game for the Tigers and pitched three innings. He gave up three hits and two runs, but only one of which was earned. He also had two strikeouts. Stephen Stewart pitched one inning and gave up four hits, walked two batters and gave up five runs. Tripp Perry pitched two innings and only gave up one hit.
Perry was 2-for-3 at the plate with a RBI and a run, and Tyler Oates was also 2-for-3 at the plate. The Tigers will face Dallas County at 10 a.m. Saturday and Clarke County at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
