A couple of degrees will be the difference in Demopolis and Marengo County getting rain or snowfall Thursday afternoon.
A upper level disturbance will move across Alabama on Thursday when temperatures are above freezing.
A narrow band of precipitation is expected to develop early in the afternoon. The National Weather Service in Birmingham expects the air to cool and as precipitation falls, temperatures will drop to near freezing.
The cooler temps will lead to the possibility of a mixture of rain and snow in the south-central portions of the state.
High uncertainty continues with this system.
Currently, no Demopolis or Marengo County school has announced any closings or early dismissals.
