Running back Rashaad Lee from Pine Forest High School in Pensacola, Fla., has signed to play football at the University of West Alabama and has enrolled for Spring Semester. Lee will participate in spring drills for the Tigers.
As a junior, Lee rushed for 1,139 yards and 18 touchdowns. He was named to the Orlando Sentinel’s 2013 Florida Panhandle Super 60.
“Rashaad is a dynamic player with the football in his hands,” UWA head coach Brett Gilliland said. “He is a very high character kid that takes care of business in the classroom as well as on the field.”
Lee, 5-7, 180, suffered a knee injury that limited his senior season at to just three games at Pine Hill. In those three games he gained 374 yards and scored four touchdowns while being used as a running quarterback and averaging 11 yards per carry.
“He will be a great asset and make a great impact on our program,” Gilliland said. “I am excited about having him here in spring training so he can get a head start on learning our system.”
