Hospital welcomes first baby of 2014

Karson Lamar Perry was born Thursday morning at 3:06 a.m. He is the son of Alicha Witherspoon and Kancy Perry.
Bryan W. Whitfield Memorial Hospital welcomed its first baby of 2014 on Thursday.
Karson Lamar Perry was born at 3:06 a.m. on Jan. 2. He weighed in at 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 20 inches long.
He is the son of Alicha Witherspoon of Newbern and Kancy Perry. Witherspoon’s original due date was Jan. 9.

Karson will be welcomed home by an older brother and sister.
As the first baby of 2014, he was also presented gifts and supplies from several businesses and individuals.
Those contributing gifts included: Charlie Burls, First United Methodist Church of Demopolis, South’s Finest Meats, Trustmark Bank, Mem Webb, St. Paul’s Baptist Church, Greater New Hope Baptist Church, the BWWMH Wellness Center, Mary Scott, Wanda Campbell, the Mennonite Church and an anonymous donor.
