The Demopolis High School DECA Club is hosting “Revive Downtown Demopolis” from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23.
The club has many activities scheduled for the day at Rooster Hall and downtown Demopolis.
Several downtown businesses will compete in a Christmas tree decorating contest, and some of the businesses will stay open later than normal Saturday for people to do some extra Christmas shopping in Demopolis.
The club also made arrangements with Santa Claus to be at the event, and children can write letters to Santa as well as visit with him and have their pictures taken with him.
From noon to 4 p.m. there will be “reindeer games” in the square, which will include sled pulling, decorate a friend, a Christmas relay and more. There will also be sleigh rides downtown from 2-6 p.m. for $1.
Tickets for the event are $3, and parents get in free if they buy a ticket for their child. If an adult comes to the event without a child, they will have to buy a ticket as well. Tickets are available from any DECA student.
DECA organized this event for the community to come out and support local businesses.
