Linden BOE approves new capital plan

The Linden Board of Education approved their new capital plan that covers the next five years during a board meeting Monday evening.
The plan outlines improvements and additions for each of the three schools in the system, Linden Elementary School, George P. Austin Junior High School and Linden High School. The plan estimates $683,000 over the next five years.
Superintendent George Baldwin gave board members the Continuous Improvement Plans for each of the three schools for them to review to be voted on during the next meeting.
The board also took the following action during Monday’s meeting:
•Approved the Medicaid Administrative Claim Program contract
•Approved the superintendent to enter into an agreement with Dana Eddins to provide speech therapy services to eligible students during the current school year
•Approved the superintendent to enter into an agreement with Remegi McCloud to provide occupational therapy services to eligible students during the current school year
•Employ Marjorie Duncan as a part-time teacher at George P. Austin Junior High School
Duncan will now be a full-time system employee, as she already works part-time at Linden Elementary School.
•Approved the superintendent to enter into an agreement with KA2 Products ASKIA Learning Concept to provide consulting services to Linden Elementary and George P. Austin
•Approved the financial reports for July and August 2013.
