Dick Hall Maxey

Dick Hall Maxey, 83, of Demopolis died Tuesday, Aug. 27.
He was born July 18, 1930, and raised in Demopolis. He graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in chemistry. He worked for Goodyear as a chemist before retiring to Demopolis to run Demopolis Auto Parts and Maxey Rentals. In his retirement, he traveled with his family and enjoyed fishing and golf.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 31 at Trinity Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest G. Maxey; sister, Ernestine Maxey Dietz; and brother, Joe A. Maxey.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Evelyn Davidson Maxey; children, Martha (Ray) Webb of Ripley, Tenn., Mike (Margaret) Maxey of Dyersburg, Tenn., Karen (Jonathan) Edelson of Stillwater, Okla., and Jow (Tammy) Maxey of Demopolis; grandchildren, Laura, Paul, Jenny, Evelyn, Mary, Erica, Catie, Kallam, Joseph and Jacob; and great-gradnchildren, Eli and Hall.
