The two classes offered by the University of West Alabama’s department of continuing education are nearing enrollment deadlines.

On Aug. 27, Kirk Brooker will begin a six-week class in acrylic painting. The class will be taught on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30. The class will be taught in an individualized manner and will accommodate students with varying levels of experience. The cost of the class is $80.

On Sept. 9, Vanessa Mills will begin a six-week class in beginners sewing. Students will need to bring their own sewing machines to class. Those interested should register by Sept. 3. The cost of the class is $80 plus the fabric cost for some of the projects. The cost of other supplies is included in the initial fee.
