U.S. Rep. Terri A. Sewell will host a job fair at Wallace Community College in Selma on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This event will bring together 50 employers from a diverse range of sectors throughout the 7th Congressional District. The job fair is a continuation of the inaugural event that was held in 2012 in Birmingham.
This year’s goal is to provide employment opportunities for Congresswoman Sewell’s constituents in the Black Belt.
“I am thrilled to host this event in the Black Belt, an area that has consistently struggled with high unemployment rates and a lack of vital economic resources,” said Sewell. “My top priority remains getting Alabamians back to work and as representative of Alabama’s 7th Congressional District, it is important that I address unemployment in every area that I represent.”
Wallace Community College’s gymnasium is located at 3000 Earl Goodwin Parkway in Selma.
