A photo from the lighting of the public square during last year’s Christmas on the River was chosen to go on the cover of a state newspaper directory.

The picture of the square’s water fountain surrounded by Christmas lights will be on the cover of the 2013 Alabama Press Association membership directory.

The photo, taken by Demopolis Times editor Justin Averette, was chosen from other images submitted by newspapers across Alabama.

“We’re proud our photo was chosen for the directory cover,” Averette said. “Christmas on the River is such a great event, we’re glad we get to share an image from the week with our colleagues and friends across the state.”

The directory includes contact information for APA members as well as other useful information about newspapers in Alabama.
