The Demopolis Tigers golf team traveled to Fayette County on Monday morning to take on the Fayette County Tigers and the Brilliant High School golf teams.
In a very tight match, the DHS Tigers won their 16th and 17th matches of the year.
Blake Bryant from DHS was low medalist over all three teams with a 37. Demopolis defeated the Tigers of Fayette by only five strokes.
After traveling back to Demopolis the Tigers reloaded and traveled another 100 miles in a different direction to Chatom to take on the Washington County High School and Leroy High School teams. Again in a tight match, the Tigers of Demopolis came away with their 18th and 19th wins of the season.
The number one seeds for all three teams were within three strokes of each other. Jordan Williams was the lowest scorer for the DHS Tigers with a 38, which was just enough to lead the Tigers to a two-stroke win over Washington County.
The Tigers, with a 19-0 record, were scheduled to play at the Ravine Thursday, but bad weather prevented that match. That marks the fifth rainout match of the season. The Tigers will be back into match play next week.
