The Demopolis High School golf team did not let a little rain and cold slow them down Thursday as they took on the Thomasville Tigers at the Ravine.
Demopolis would beat the elements to shoot their lowest score of the season with a 145. Thomasville also shot their lowest of the year, but it wasn’t enough to knock off the home team.
The low medalist for Demopolis was the team’s No. 1 seed, Braden Spiller, who shot a 35. He was followed by Blake Bryant and Jordan Williams, who both shot a 36, and Sam Yeager and Payne Hasty both shot a 38. Chandler Stuedeman shot a 41 and Anna Reid shot a 44.
The Tigers second team played as well, and posted some impressive scores themselves. Tommy Cristwell and Mark Johnson both shot 37, Jason Lowe shot 39, Houston Davis shot 40, Zack Murphy shot 31 and Wil Logan shot 51.
The win puts Demopolis at 15-0 on the season. They will travel to Fayette County on Monday to take on Fayette and Brilliant High School at the Fayette Country Club on Monday. On Tuesday, they will travel to Chatom to take on Washington County.
