Norma Baker Purvis

Norma Baker Purvis, age 84, of Gallion, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 21, at DCH Regional Medical Center.
Graveside services were Sunday, March 24 at 2:30 p.m. at Demopolis Memorial Gardens with Rev. Hank Atchinson officiating with Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Daniel John Baker, and her father and mother, James Murray and Nettie Reeves Rushing.
Survivors include her husband, William H. Purvis of Gallion; sons, Daniel “Chuck” Baker, George “Mutt” Baker and Marcus (Rena) Baker, all of Gallion, William Thomas (Margie) Purvis of Madison, Miss., David (Beverly) Purvis and Richard Purvis of Nashville, Tenn.; daughter, Lynn (Eric) Diaz of Long Island, N.Y.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Kenny Freeman, Richard Purvis, Wilson Hamrick, Tommy Purvis, Warren Allen and Wayne Baker.
Honorary pallbearers were Tom Allen, Alex Jones, David Hampton, David Purvis, Billy Baker, Wayne Nettles, Bill Ringland, Jake Freeman and John Haynes.
Memorials may be made to the Lottie Moon Mission at Gallion Baptist Church.
