UWA tennis knocks off Western Kentucky

LIVINGSTON – The West Alabama men’s tennis team defeated Division I opponent Western Kentucky at the Vaughan Tennis Complex on Thursday, sweeping the Hilltoppers 7-0.
The UWA men have won five consecutive matches and improve to 11-2 overall. Western Kentucky falls to 3-6 on the season.
The Tigers swept the Hill Toppers in every doubles and singles match. Nestor Vargas, Simon Bardell, Anton Ivanov and Adam Drysdale each defeated their singles opponents in two sets. Vargas and Kike Ruiz won their doubles match, as did Honorio Fernandez and Manuel Grossman.
UWA men’s and women’s tennis return to Gulf South Conference action on Saturday as they host North Alabama. The match is set for 10 a.m.
