The Linden City Board of Education will hold a public forum Monday, March 11 at 6 p.m. in the Linden Elementary School cafeteria concerning the future of George P. Austin Junior High School.
Superintendent George Baldwin said talks are in the preliminary stages, and the system wants to hold a forum to hear the opinions of the public.
“We’re in the preliminary stages right now,” he said. “There is nothing definite in place.”
He said the reason for concern was the cost of operation.
“We are looking at it for cost-cutting measures,” Baldwin said.
He added that if the school does close, the students will be filtered to the other two campuses in the district.
