Missionaries from near and far will pour into the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church in Demopolis for the 27th annual Missions Conference to be held Feb. 22-24.
The church has donated about $650,000 in missions throughout the years to those spreading the Gospel in various countries.
A large portion of the funds come from “Faith Promise,” which is when members promise in faith to give a certain amount to missions.
“Our goal for this conference is to be encouraged by what God is doing around the world and secondly, to be challenged about our part in what he is doing,” church pastor Tommy Carr said.
He said missionaries not only need to be supported financially, but they can be supported with prayer, encouragement, cards, letters and packages to let them know people are thinking of them.
Some of the missionaries will represent work done in many countries including Mexico, Kenya, Japan, Chile, and Ethiopia.
