A woman was arrested Friday morning following a drug bust in Thomaston.
Robin Calhoun was brought to the Marengo County Jail on charges of possession of a controlled substance, first-degree possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Clint Sumlin, 17th Judicial Task Force Commander, said authorities obtained a search warrant and found marijuana, crack cocaine, scales and packaging equipment inside the house on Hillcrest Drive.
The 17th Judicial Task Force was assisted by the Thomaston Police Department, the Marengo County Sheriff’s Department, the Alabama ABC board, the Fourth Circuit Drug Task Force and the First Circuit Drug Task Force.
“I just want to thank everybody for their cooperation in this matter,” Sumlin said. “There’s a lot of crime that stems from these places, and this is a step in cutting down on that.”
Thomaston Mayor Jeff Laduron said he wanted to thank everyone involved for their hard work.
“They’ve been working hard on this for a while,” he said. “I want to thank the 17th Judicial Drug Task Force and everyone involved for their hard work. We are going to continue working on this problem. They have the full support of the council and the city.”
He added that if anyone has any information about the sale of illegal drugs, they can call the Thomaston Police Department at 334-627-3434.
