The University of West Alabama men’s basketball program is offering a free Tiger Christmas Basketball Camp at Pruitt Hall Gym on Dec. 8 for children ages 8-to-13.
The free camp will run from 10 a.m. to noon and offer instruction by the West Alabama coaching staff and members of the 2012-13 Tiger basketball team. In addition to prizes such as t-shirts, posters and basketballs, each camper will be admitted free to the UWA women’s game against Montevallo that begins at 2 p.m.
“We are appreciative of the support for our program and wanted to find a way to say thank you to our fans, especially our young Tiger supporters,” head coach Mike Newell said. “We hope that in some small way, this can help say thanks for following the Tigers.”
Campers should report to Pruitt Hall by 9:30 a.m. on Dec. 8 dressed in workout clothes and appropriate shoes for a wood basketball court. Camp activities will begin promptly at 10 a.m.
The West Alabama men’s team begins Gulf South Conference play Thursday at Shorter University. The next home game for the Tigers is Dec. 29 against William Carey. For more information about UWA basketball visit www.uwaathletics.com.
