During the Thanksgiving holiday travel period from 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, through midnight Sunday, Nov. 25, Alabama State Troopers investigated six traffic deaths, including the death of a motorcyclist.
These six fatalities occurred in Baldwin, Chilton, Conecuh, Etowah, Limestone and Mobile counties. Seat belts were available for five of the six individuals killed, and three were not using them. Based on preliminary investigations, troopers say alcohol was not a factor in any of the deadly crashes.
During this same holiday travel period in 2011, troopers investigated six of the state’s nine traffic deaths. State totals for this year’s extended holiday travel period will not be available until later in the year.
