The date and theme for this spring’s 2013 Relay For Life is up to you.

Relay’s planning committee is asking residents to vote on what day and theme they like best.

“We want to get the community involved this year,” Doris Stephens, event chair said. “We have already started building a committee and will hold the kick-off event on Dec. 10.”

Marengo County residents are urged to cast their vote by texting (205) 377-2756 indicating they are in favor of either of the following options for the date and theme.

Those voting should text, “Date 1” for April 5, 2013 and “Date 2” for May 11, 2013.

In addition, voters should text “Theme 1” for “Setting up Combat for the Cure (camouflage),” text “Theme 2” for “Teaming up for the Cure (sports)” and “Theme 3” for “In it, to win it. (colors of cancer)”

The final day to vote is Saturday, Nov. 17.
