Soap suds, buckets of water and children at work filled the parking lot near Fairhaven Baptist Church recently as the church’s youth group worked to raise money for a mission trip to Anniston.
“We are working to raise money for a trip to Anniston to work with Renovation Ministries,” said interim youth minister Rebecca Campbell.
During the trip, Fairhaven children will work to host a block party, distribute candy and aid less fortunate families. This would be the third trip the group has taken to Anniston.
“We have about 21 people who have signed up,” she said. “The trip will take place Nov. 2-4.”
The children are working to cover a $125 cost per child. The church covers $50, but the child’s family has to cover the remainder.
