The Demopolis High School River City Blue band attended Troy University for a band competition last weekend and brought home several awards.
Drum major and auxiliary including majorettes, dance line and color guard received superiors and the horn and percussion section received excellent.
“We have received superiors in the past,” Matt Fields, band director said. “We are now working on the next competition on Oct. 20.”
The upcoming competition will be held at Curry High School in Walker County and the school is doing several things to prepare.
“We are listening to the judges comments from the competition in Troy to improve for the next competition,” he said. “We are also cleaning up any things we currently need to work on.”
Fields said this past competition was one of the harder competitions he has attended in his four years at the school.
