5K to benefit children’s day camp

The second annual Sawyerville Work Project 5K Run/Walk will be Saturday, Oct. 20 in Greensboro.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church and the race begins at 9 a.m. The registration fee is $25 and is non-refundable. Late registrations may not receive souvenirs.
Awards for the race go to the top three overall male and female finishers, the Masters (over 40) male and female top finisher, the top three male and female in each age group and the top three in the new stroller division.
Benefits for the race go to the Sawyerville Day Camp, which is an annual camp for economically disadvantaged children and youth in the Black Belt of Alabama. Campers come for free with no staff fees. The camp is sponsored by the Episcopal Diocese of Alabama Youth Department and the Sawyerville Commission.
