Edith Martin Smith Knight, 91, of Demopolis died Tuesday, Sept. 25 at her home.
She was born in Wetumpka, but spent her entire adult life in West Alabama, where she and Mr. Knight made many friends in the schools and communities they served.
She was preceded in death by her husband, A.A. (Doc) Knight and her son, A.A. Knight Jr.
She is survived by her sons, Bill (Betty) Knight of Fackler and Steven Knight of Ellijay, Ga.; her daughter, Kitty (Cotton) Eddins of Demopolis; her grandchildren, Paige Knight of Florida, Billy (Becca) Knight of Jefferson, Ga., Amy (Bob) Knight Haney of Horse Cave, Ky., Bill (Jennifer) Eddins of Sarah, Miss., Andy (Dana) Eddins of Demopolis, Betsy (Kirk) Eddins Stephens of Demopolis and Sally Eddins of Memphis, Tenn.; and great-grandchildren, Logan and Will Knight of Jefferson, Ga., Rob Eddins of Sarah, Miss., Anderson Eddins and Bill, Molly Martin and Ed Stephens of Demopolis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 27 at First Baptist Church of Demopolis with the Rev. Carl Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the family home.
Active pallbearers will be Andy Eddins, Kirk Stephens, Billy Knight, Mike McAlpine, Bill Eddins and Joe Burnette.
