Marengo Academy defeated the defending AISA Class A state champion Jackson Academy 37-8 on the road Friday night.

The Longhorns rushed for a total of 302 yards in the game, with Josh Holifield leading the way with 157 yards on 21 carries. He also ran in two scores.

Brant Lewis had two rushing touchdowns of his own to go along with 124 yards on 10 carries.

Kyle Adams led the Longhorns and filled the stat sheet with eight tackles, two assists, one sack, one interception and a fumble recovery.

This win moves the Longhorns to 3-0 on the season, which surpasses their win total from the entire 2011 season.
