The Demopolis Area Chamber will host a political forum on Monday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Demopolis Civic Center.
Both mayoral candidates and the candidates running for city council in districts 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 have been invited to the forum, and are expected to attend. District 4 will not have a candidate present because the incumbent, Bill Meador, is running unopposed.
Those running for the August 28 elections will be allotted three minutes each for speeches during the forum.
Questions from the public are being accepted for mayoral candidates only, and should be sent to demopchamber@yahoo.com or submitted by letter to P.O. Box 667 by Aug. 9.
Allen Bishop will be the facilitator, Police Chief Tommie Reese will serve as timekeeper, and the Rev. J.D. Barnes will give the invocation for the evening.
