University of Alabama students are planning a memorial service for fallen classmate Tre’ Jones.

Jones, 20, of Demopolis, died after falling overboard the Bama Belle riverboat Thursday night.

Jones was a member of Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity and a student in the College of Engineering, majoring in construction engineering.

According to a Facebook posting, the student-driven memorial will take place Wednesday at 5:30 p.m., according to its Facebook page.

“…Some of Tre’s closest friends want everyone to remember Tre’ and all of his greatness. This is a river lighting memorial service for our brother, friend, and angel. We are asking that everyone join together to celebrate the great memories of Tre’,” the event description said.
