Search on for missing Demopolis native, UA student

Tuscaloosa police and rescue officials combed the Black Warrior River into the early morning hours Friday in search of a University of Alabama student who fell overboard the Bama Belle during a sorority party.
The search for the student, Tre’ Jones, of Demopolis, resumed at daybreak Friday.
According to Tuscaloosa Police, Jones fell overboard shortly before 10 p.m. Thursday while the boat was cruising just west of the Hugh Thomas Bridge in Tuscaloosa.
The party was the Delta Sigma Theta sorority’s annual White Party formal.
Tuscaloosa Police and Sheriff’s helicopter pilots searched the area by air while other officers combed the banks. Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue personnel searched the river on boats along with the U.S. Coast Guard.
Rescue teams said Friday morning that they believe they have found the area where Jones fell overboard.
