A meeting set for Monday at the Demopolis Board of Education has been postponed but Dr. Al Griffin has already set a different meeting in an effort to reach out to the community.
Griffin said he would hold an informal meeting with the public March 24 where he hopes to offer some insight into the workings of the schools.
“It’s just an opportunity to tell the parents about the educational system and how it works,” he said of the 1 p.m. gathering. “How it’s funded, what teaching units are and that type of thing.”
Given the recent spike in interest in the city’s school system, Griffin said he hopes for a strong turnout for the question and answer session.
“I hope we can fill the board room up,” he said. “And if we do, and some people can’t get in, we’ll hold another one.”
